SEC Delays Decision on Bitcoin ETF Once again, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) delayed deciding on whether to approve an exchange-traded fund (ETF) submitted by Bitwise Asset Management. The SEC further asked interested parties to make public comments relating to whether they should grant or deny approval of the fund.

Bakkt Will Test Bitcoin Futures Trading This Summer Bakkt, which is an institutional digital currency exchange, announced that in early July they would test out their Bitcoin futures trading platform. They are developing the platform in cooperation with both the Intercontinental Exchange and its clear house component. Bakkt further announced that it was cooperating with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission to make certain that its platform was compliant with all federal regulations.

eBay Denies That It Will Accept Digital Currencies E-commerce giant eBay has squelched rumors that it would begin accepting digital currencies as payments. The rumors mounted because of ads launched at the recent Consensus blockchain conference in New York, which stated: "Virtual currency. It’s happening on eBay." eBay not only stated that they do not accept cryptocurrencies but added that it is not part of their strategy.
